When the pulse oximeter gets attached to everything

I had a patient come in last week who was so anxious about their vitals that they kept trying to attach the pulse oximeter to their finger, their toe, then even to their belt loop! It reminded me that sometimes it’s not just the machines that need calming, but the people using them too. Ever had a similar tech struggle in the ER?

Haha, I’ve seen patients try to clip it on their hair too! :man_facepalming: How do you keep them calm during those moments?
