Navigating post-operative complications

I’ve noticed that managing post-operative complications, like infection or stiffness, can be challenging in orthopedic cases. Recently, I encountered a patient who developed significant stiffness after a knee arthroscopy. I’m curious how others approach follow-ups and rehabilitation strategies in similar situations?

Managing stiffness after knee arthroscopy can be tricky; i’ve had success with early mobilization and using continuous passive motion machines to boost recovery. Have you considered incorporating that?

I’ve found that emphasizing patient education about home exercises can significantly decrease stiffness. One thing that really worked for my patient was introducing some gentle stretching right after the procedure. Have you tried specific stretches with your patients?
