Managing neuropathic pain can be particularly challenging for us in neurology, especially when it comes to balancing patient care with medication side effects. I’ve found a lot of value in using non-pharmacological approaches alongside traditional treatments, such as cognitive behavioral therapy or physical therapy. What strategies have you all implemented that have worked well for your patients?
I’ve had good success with incorporating mindfulness techniques into treatment plans. For patients who are receptive, just a few minutes of guided meditation can help them manage their pain perception better. It’s not a cure-all, but it complements cognitive behavioral therapy nicely.
And i’ve started using a pain registry to track triggers and outcomes for my patients. It helps us tailor their non-drug strategies better. Anyone else tried this method?
