Balancing Tech with Patient Connection

I’ve noticed how quickly technology has become a part of our workflow, especially in mental health… While tools like EHRs are incredibly useful, I worry about losing the personal touch in patient interactions. How do you all manage to use technology effectively while still maintaining that vital human connection?

I think it’s all about the timing — like taking a moment at the start of each appointment to check in and really listen. I’ve seen that make a huge difference. How do others integrate that into their routines?

it’s so frustrating to feel like tech gets in the way sometimes. I try to schedule at least five minutes for just connecting with my patients before diving into the EHR. It helps remind them — and me — that the human element is what really matters.
